Salary: £38,689 per annum plus benefits including a final salary pension scheme, generous annual leave, and flexible and hybrid working.
Location: Bristol
(The roles will be based in Bristol; however, we are operating a hybrid way of working and support our staff to make use of remote working options when combined with regular on-site contact days with other members of the team, normally 1-2 days a week. Some travel to the organisations and places we work with will also be required).
We are seeking to appoint 3 Relationship Manager roles. Your application will be considered for all roles, however if you have a preference, please include this in your supporting statement. If open to all positions, there is no need to include a preference.
About the Role
We are looking for candidates with specialised sector knowledge of Touring (contract 1) and Combined Arts (contract 2). We welcome applicants from any of our other specialisms for the other RM post (contract 3). Previous experience of place-based working, particularly in the South West, would be beneficial across all three roles.
This is a busy and exciting time to join as we undertake the significant National Portfolio Investment Programme. These posts will be a key part of our assessment process, with the opportunity to contribute your expertise and develop your understanding of Arts Council grant-making.
As a Relationship Manager, you will act as the primary point of contact between regularly funded organisations and the Arts Council. You will broker internal and external relationships to ensure that funded organisations have access to appropriate sources of expertise and knowledge to support them in achieving great art in the context of delivering their business plans and operating effectively.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
