Reliability Consultant

📍Location: UK-based, remote, with regular customer site travel

Osprey Engineering Solutions are hiring on behalf of a company within reliability and asset management services. They are seeking an experienced Reliability Consultant to join a growing team, delivering reliability engineering and asset management solutions to customers across manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, energy, utilities and other asset-intensive industries.

This is a customer-facing role for a proven reliability professional who can lead consultancy projects, facilitate technical workshops and translate analysis into practical improvements in asset performance, maintenance effectiveness and operational reliability.

⭐Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and facilitate RCM, FMEA/FMECA, RCA and Preventive Maintenance Optimisation studies.
  • Develop asset criticality assessments, maintenance strategies and reliability improvement programmes.
  • Analyse reliability and maintenance data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Produce clear technical reports, recommendations and implementation plans.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders at operational, engineering and management levels.
  • Present findings and recommendations to customers and provide reliability subject matter expertise.
  • Manage multiple consultancy projects, ensuring delivery to agreed timescales, scope and quality standards.
  • Support project scoping, proposals and the development of internal reliability tools and best practice.

✅About You

You will have a degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in engineering, reliability, asset management, maintenance engineering or a related discipline, together with demonstrable experience delivering reliability consultancy projects.

You should have strong practical experience in some of the following:

  • Reliability-Centred Maintenance (RCM)
  • FMEA/FMECA
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Preventive Maintenance Optimisation (PMO)
  • Asset Criticality Analysis
  • Maintenance strategy development
  • Reliability improvement programmes
  • CMMS/EAM and reliability data analysis

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate successful customer-facing consultancy assignments, including leading workshops, engaging stakeholders and delivering measurable improvements.

✅Desirable

Experience or qualifications in areas such as CRE, CMRP, ISO 55000, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, Six Sigma or project management would be advantageous. Industry experience within manufacturing, pharmaceutical, utilities, energy or process environments is also beneficial.
