Maintenance Operations Supervisor –(Collectors Europe)

is now looking for a Maintenance Operations Supervisor to join our team.
About the Role
Purpose of the Role
Ensure all companies and legislative operating standards and policies are adhered to within the Maintenance department. Evaluate and optimise efficiency across all activities and site assets. Help achieve company KPIs while ensuring compliance with company and legislative standards. Develop and maintain site job planning libraries and action plans. Lead and coach Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to foster a root-cause问题解決文化 culture, ensuring lessons learned are implemented and communicated.
Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Compliance & Leadership
- Work within all company policies and procedures (Health & Safety, Quality, HR, Environmental) and support shift and day-time Maintenance teams in adhering to them.
- Enforce full compliance among teams with:
- Company Quality/Environmental standards (ISO 14001, etc.)
- Relevant legislation (HSE, waste management, COSHH, etc.)
- Set a positive leadership example with a professional and approachable approach, fostering an open-door policy.

Performance & Process Improvement
- Monitor and develop process efficiency within the work area.
- Ensure all shift and day-time team members operate in compliance with KPIs (Health & Safety, Quality, On-Time Delivery, Cost).
- Support the Maintenance Foreman in:
- Conducting personnel development, identifying training needs, and maintaining training records.
Continuous Improvement & Safety

Promote and support continuous improvement projects, ensuring sustainability through best operational practices.

Lead H&S audits, SOP reviews, and accident/incident investigations.

Administer and audit site permit systems to ensure site regulatory compliance.

Optimise Waiting On Maintenance (WOM) time for both planned and unplanned activities.
Planning & Coordination
- Ensure planned maintenance activities are current, suitable, and sufficient.
- Plan shutdown schedules, prioritise jobs, and allocate workload to internal teams and contractors.
- Maintain a job plan library in Agility PM for high-frequency tasks to ensure safe and efficient execution.
Failure Analysis & Reliability

Update job plans to incorporate necessary changes or improvements.

Aggregate similar high-frequency tasks into periodic blocks for maximum efficiency.

Lead root-cause failure analysis meetings.

Coordinate equipment FMEA analyses and implement defined actions.

Develop optimized maintenance plans (lubrication, preventive, predictive, and failure-finding tasks).

Support the Maintenance Foreman in coaching Root Cause Analysis as part of daily operations.

Provide design and projects engineers with reliability input, adhering to the Equipment Modification Request (EMR) procedure.
Troubleshooting & Procurement
- Offer troubleshooting support for equipment reliability issues, including emergency work reviews.
- Work with spare parts suppliers to optimise inventory—identifying strategic and critical parts.
- Follow up on trial spare/process parts submitted by alternative suppliers.

Administration
- Create procurement documents (e.g., purchase orders) for required materials, spare parts, components, tools, or external services.
- Report for work at additional Bridon sites, as necessary.
Skills & Competencies
Education & Experience
- Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (e.g., HNC or higher).
- Proven experience in a supervisory role, demonstrating success in leadership.
- Background in a manufacturing environment.
Technical & Methodological Skills
- Continuous Improvement tools, techniques, and methodologies.
- Practical understanding of HSE and Quality policies.
Soft Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels—inside and outside the organization.
- Collaborative mindset across multiple departments.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Compliance & Coordination
- Ability to lead complex programmes and contribute to sustainability efforts across Bridon'elle' sites.
- Experience in optimising maintenance operations and resource management.
