Python Reliability Engineer – Risk Technology
Location: London - 4 days per week in office.
The opportunity
Actus Search is working with a leading global quantitative investment manager to hire a Reliability Software Engineer into its Risk Technology team in London. The team owns the systems at the centre of the firm’s trading: position management, real-time P&L, inventory and locate management, and internal order routing. They have to be fast and resilient, and they process very large volumes of trading data in real time.
This is an engineering role, not a pure support role. You’ll build firm-wide platforms that make these systems easier to observe, safer to change and quicker to run, so the team spends less time on manual work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
