With over 40 Reliability Engineers across the UK, we help customers improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime through vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication management, ultrasound inspections, laser alignment and in-situ fan balancing.
What will you be doing?
We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Reliability Technician to join our Asset Reliability team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a mechanical engineering or maintenance background who wants to build a career in reliability engineering and condition monitoring.
Previous condition monitoring experience is advantageous but not essential. Full training will be provided, including support towards industry-recognised condition monitoring qualifications such as Vibration Analysis Level 1 (VA1) and Vibration Analysis Level 2 (VA2).
You'll collect condition monitoring data while developing analysis and diagnostic skills through structured training, with a clear pathway to becoming a qualified Reliability Engineer. You'll gain experience working on a wide range of industrial rotating equipment, including motors, pumps, fans, blowers, gearboxes, compressors, conveyors, crushers, screens and other critical process plant machinery.
For this role you will need to be located in the North East, covering Durham, Newcastle, Teesside and South Scotland areas.

This is a hybrid role, combining customer site visits with home-based data analysis, reporting and route management activities, helping you develop both practical and analytical reliability engineering skills.
As part of our team, you will get:
- A starting salary from £28,000, with the opportunity to progress to £40,000 within two years through our structured development programme linked to Vibration Analysis Level 1 (VA1) and Vibration Analysis Level 2 (VA2) qualifications and competency milestones.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Collect vibration data using industry-leading vibration analysers and data collectors.
- Complete routine condition monitoring routes safely and efficiently.
- Upload, organise and maintain condition monitoring databases and records.
- Record equipment condition findings and observations using company software systems.
- Identify equipment abnormalities, defects and deteriorating machine condition.
- Operate and maintain condition monitoring equipment.
- Support specialist services including laser alignment, fan balancing and online monitoring systems.
- Represent British Engineering Services professionally on customer sites.
- Build positive relationships with customer contacts and site personnel.
- Communicate findings and observations clearly and professionally.
- Follow RAMS, permit systems and site-specific safety procedures.

To join our team, you will need:
- Mechanical engineering, maintenance or similar technical background.
- Good understanding of mechanical equipment and machinery operation.
- Interest in condition monitoring, machinery reliability and predictive maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office packages.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn new technical skills and develop professional qualifications.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout the region and occasionally stay away from home overnight when required.
