We are seeking 2 x flexible Nursery Assistants to join our Relief Team! In this role, you will be accountable for general day to day care of children at multiple nurseries across Mid Sussex. The ideal candidate will have flexibility to be available across the multiple sites, have a driver licence for ease of commute as well as a passion for childcare.
As a Relief Nursery Assistant, you will support the care and development of young children in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Working under the EYFS framework, you'll assist with daily routines, learning activities, and help build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Hours & Pay
- 15 hours per week, 11:30am-14:30pm Monday-Friday
- £8.00-£12.71 per hour
Requirements
- A passion and interest in working with children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Full flexibility to work across multiple sites across Mid Sussex
- Drivers licence
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality care and activities for children which recognise both individual and group requirements in a secure, safe and stimulating environment
- Follow the appropriate guidance and frameworks for younger children, e.g. Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Be aware of child protection issues and follow the Nursery’s child protection procedures
- Prepare and serve food, milk, drinks and snacks to children in accordance with the nurseries Food Hygiene policy and Local Authority guidelines
- Actively promote positive behaviour in all areas relating to food, nutrition and eating
- Prepare areas for eating, ensuring they meet high standards of cleanliness.
- Assist children with personal care, including changing nappies, assisting with toileting and other associated welfare duties
- Carry out ongoing cleaning of the nursery
- Follow company policies in regard to equality and inclusion
- Record and maintain accurate records of children’s attendance
- Be familiar and adhere to key nursery policies and procedures
- Participate in professional development and training
