We are seeking flexible Nursery Practitioners to join our Relief Team!

In this role, you will be accountable for general day to day care of children at multiple nurseries across Mid Sussex. The ideal candidate will have flexibility to be available across the multiple sites, have a driver licence for ease of commute as well as a passion for childcare.

As a Relief Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and Early Years education for young children. Working as part of a supportive team, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. You will follow the EYFS framework to support children’s individual development and build strong relationships with both families and colleagues.

Hours & Pay:

  • 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

  • Please see below for our current rates of pay

  • Level 2 Qualified rate of pay: £33,280.00 per annum

  • Level 3+ Qualified rate of pay: £35,256.00 per annum

Requirements

  • A minimum of level 2 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent
  • Experience of working in a childcare setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate care for every child and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities
  • Act as a key person, monitoring and recording children’s progress
  • Maintain up-to-date Learning Journeys and individual planning
  • Support personal care, hygiene, and mealtimes
  • Promote positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and monitor child wellbeing
  • Ensure the room is clean, safe, and well-resourced
  • Work in partnership with parents, carers, and external agencies
  • Encourage free flow play to support independence and confidence
  • Participate in training and ongoing professional development
