We’re Hiring: Relief Security Officer

📍 Location: Berkshire and Surrey

💰 Pay: £14.56

📅 Hours: 40 hours per week, covering shifts as required

To provide professional security services as a Relief Security Officer across a variety of sites within a designated geographical area, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to operational requirements. Protecting customers’ employees, property, and assets in accordance with relevant Assignment Instructions and site-specific customer requirements. As a Relief Security Officer, delivering exceptional customer service while consistently demonstrating Securitas’ core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness. Supporting site operations by maintaining a visible and professional presence, responding effectively to security needs, and ensuring a safe and secure environment. Applicants for the Relief Security Officer role must hold a valid SIA licence before commencing operational shifts.

Responsibilities

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

  • Provide a professional security presence as a Relief Security Officer across multiple customer sites.
  • Protect people, property, and assets through regular patrols and security checks.
  • Monitor and respond to alarms, CCTV activity, incidents, and emergencies.
  • Control access to sites and ensure all visitors, contractors, and staff follow site procedures.
  • Report incidents, suspicious activity, hazards, and security breaches accurately and promptly.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and act as the first point of contact for visitors and site personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with company and client requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all Assignment Instructions, company policies, and health & safety procedures.
  • Support the prevention of loss, damage, theft, and vandalism across assigned locations.
  • Demonstrate Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness at all times.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable to cover a variety of sites and shifts as a Relief Security Officer.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, appearance, and conduct expected of a Relief Security Officer.
  • Hold and maintain a valid SIA licence as a requirement of the role.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle and be able to travel independently to all assigned locations.
  • Ability to work independently and provide security cover at short notice across multiple sites.
  • Hold a valid SIA Licence. Full right to work in the UK.
  • Possess a full, valid UK driving licence.
  • Demonstrate a stable employment history or provide satisfactory explanations for any gaps in employment, self-employment, or education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High standards of integrity, professionalism, and reliability.
  • Commitment to upholding Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Punctual, dependable, and well organised.
  • Flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience within the security industry, ideally in a Security Officer or Relief Security Officer role.
  • Current First Aid qualification.
  • Experience working across multiple sites as a Relief Security Officer would be advantageous.
