📍 Location: London, WC1B 5EH

💰 Pay: £13.85 per hour

📅 Hours: Guaranteed 24 hours per week, with the potential to work additional hours across days, nights & weekends

We are currently recruiting for a Relief Security Officer to support multiple sites across a defined geographic area. This role is ideal for a flexible and professional individual who can provide high-quality security services while protecting people, property, and assets in line with assignment instructions and client requirements. You will be expected to deliver excellent customer service at all times, demonstrating the core values of integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness, whilst also adapting quickly to different environments and operational needs🛡️

As a Relief Security Officer, your key responsibilities will include preventing unauthorised access, monitoring alarm systems and CCTV, and carrying out both internal and external patrols as required. You will also manage access control, conduct routine equipment checks, provide traffic and parking control where necessary, and handle key management including locking and unlocking duties.

Responsibilities

Job Description

You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:

  • Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site.
  • Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms and CCTV as appropriate.
  • Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
  • Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate.
  • Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
  • Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
  • Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
  • To provide support, guidance and information to all staff, visitors and contractors whilst ensuring safeguarding of the premises.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • A valid SIA licence.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends.
  • Front of house/reception experience.
  • Willing to support and travel across multiple sites of the branch across London.
  • Customer service experience.
  • The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history.
  • Reliable and flexible.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to carry out patrols.
  • Strong report writing skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate and detailed incident shift reports.
  • Good level of computer knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken.
