Job Description
🔐 Security Officer – Relief guaranteed 42 hours per week
- 🪪 Local SIA course & licence provided
- 📍 Locations Covered:
- Barrow in Furness
- Ulverston
🕒 Hours
- Guaranteed 42 hours per week
- Permanent
🔄 Shift Pattern:
- Days, nights, and weekends
We are looking for a Relief Security Officer to join our team covering either two of our sites. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is proactive, physically fit, and dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure environment. If you have the drive to make a difference and possess the required skills and qualifications, we want to hear from you.
🎁 What we offer:
- 🕒 42-hour work week with varied shifts (days, nights, weekends)
- 💰 Salary: Competitive pay between £14.57 – £15.27 per hour (including shift allowances)
- 🔴 No SIA Licence? No problem! We provide full SIA training to help you obtain your licence and grow within the security industry. (5 full days for this is required)

💼 What You'll Be Doing:
- ✔ Meet & Greet: Assist visitors, staff, and contractors, ensuring smooth site access.
- ✔ Regular Patrols: Conduct indoor & outdoor patrols, focusing on security & health and safety.
- ✔ Incident Response: React swiftly to emergencies, site evacuations, and security threats.
- ✔ Compliance & Reporting: Maintain logs, incident reports, and ensure site security aligns with regulations.
- ✔ Surveillance & Prevention: Stay alert to potential risks, conduct staff searches if required.
- ✔ Team Handover: Ensure smooth transitions between shifts for continuous protection.
Qualifications
🔧 What We’re Looking For:
- ✔️ Valid SIA Licence or be able to attend a 5 days SIA course in Barrow
- 💬 Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- 🧠 Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- 🇬🇧 Must be a born British citizen or have held a British passport for a minimum of 5 years
- 📄 Must have a 5-year checkable work history
- 🔐 Must be able to obtain SC clearance, DBS required for this
- 💪 Must be physically fit due to significant walking involved in the role
