Job Introduction

Security Officer — Olympia London

Front of House

Estate & Public Realm
Logistics
Events

Be part of one of London's most ambitious regeneration projects.

Olympia is undergoing a £1.3 billion transformation — turning this iconic London landmark into a destination for the remarkable and the extraordinary. Think British Airways ARC (a 3,800-capacity live music venue with AEG Presents), the British Airways Theatre (London's largest purpose-built theatre in almost 50 years), hotels with citizenM and Hyatt Regency, 30 restaurants and bars, a boutique gym with 1Rebel, and a brand-new co-educational senior school — all alongside Olympia's existing heritage halls.

As a Security Officer at Olympia, you'll be part of a single team trusted to keep the whole estate safe — whether that's welcoming people at the front door, patrolling the public realm and event spaces, or securing the loading bay and logistics operation. You'll receive training to ensure you can perform confidently in any area you're deployed. As part of the role, flexibility is essential, and you'll support the operational needs of the business by working across different areas as required.

The Role

This role is about more than just security — it's about making a difference across one of London's most exciting developments. All Security Officers at Olympia are recruited under a single role and cross-trained across the estate, so you'll build skills that go well beyond one location or one type of duty.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Depending on the shift, that might mean staffing a reception desk, patrolling event spaces and the public realm, or securing the loading bay and logistics operation. Deployment is decided by the operational needs of the day.

If you're looking for a single, fixed post with no variation, this role won't be the right fit. If you enjoy variety, want to build a wider range of experience, and are happy to go where you're needed on the day, you'll get far more out of this role than a single-site position could offer.

What You'll Be Doing

Front of House & Reception

  • Access & Verification — controlling entry for authorised personnel, contractors, and pre-registered visitors; verifying credentials via access control and visitor management systems
  • Professional Presence — maintaining a discreet yet authoritative presence aligned with high-profile tenant expectations
  • Vigilance — watching for suspicious behaviour, tailgating, or unauthorised deliveries; reporting anomalies to the Control Room

Estate & Public Realm

  • Event & Crowd Support — supporting events, managing visitor flows, and providing a visible, reassuring presence across the wider estate
  • Patrol & Monitoring — patrolling public realm and event spaces, using CCTV and direct observation to spot and report issues early
  • Incident Response — responding calmly and professionally to incidents, from lost property to medical emergencies and evacuations

Logistics & Loading Bay

  • Access & Vehicle Screening — controlling vehicular access; verifying credentials, manifests, and vehicle details via ANPR and access control systems
  • Goods-In and Goods-Out Security — overseeing secure movement of goods and watching for tampering, theft, or suspicious packages
  • Documentation — logging vehicle entries, deliveries, and inspections; completing incident reports and handovers

Across All Areas

  • Emergency Response — acting as a point of contact during fire alarms, evacuations, or lockdowns
  • Coordination — liaising with tenants, contractors, and the Control Room; maintaining accurate logs; communicating clearly via radio and phone
  • Compliance — operating within SIA licensing conditions, GDPR, and Olympia's safeguarding policies
