We’re Hiring: Relief Security Officer

📍 Location: Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, UK

💰 Pay: £14.00 per hour

📅 Hours: 40hr days, nights and weekends relief role

About the Role

The Relief Security Officer provides security services across multiple sites as needed, ensuring the protection of people, property, and assets. As a Relief Security Officer, the role requires holding a valid SIA licence and maintaining high standards of integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness at all times. The Relief Security Officer must be flexible, reliable, and ready to cover shifts at short notice, adapting quickly to different locations and operational requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe.
  • Monitor and protect the site through access control, CCTV monitoring, alarm response, and regular patrols.
  • Maintain a safe environment by reporting hazards, following health and safety procedures, and responding to incidents.
  • Help prevent loss, theft, and criminal activity by reporting suspicious behaviour and conducting security checks when required.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Complete all reports, logs, and documentation accurately while following company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness at all times.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guard licence; right to work in the UK; age 18+.
  • Five-year checkable work history and no criminal convictions.
  • Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends.
  • Good communication, customer service skills, and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Valid UK driving licence and vehicle (Essential)
  • Previous security officer experience.
  • First Aid qualification.
