We’re Hiring: Relief Security Officer

📍 Location: Cardiff, CF24 5YX

💰 Pay: £13.10 per hour

📅 Hours: Flexible shift pattern including evenings and weekends 48 hours per week 6am-6pm and 6pm-6am shifts days and nights

About the Role

Working across multiple sites within a designated area, the Relief Security Officer will provide a professional security service in line with Assignment Instructions and site-specific requirements, helping to protect employees, visitors, property, and other assets. Supporting a leading steel manufacturing organisation focused on innovation, sustainability, and the circular economy, the Relief Security Officer will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. The Relief Security Officer will deliver exceptional customer service while upholding Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness, contributing to the success of a business that values diversity, development, and investment in its people and local communities.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring access control, CCTV, and other security systems.
  • Conducting regular security patrols across the site.
  • Welcoming and assisting staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Managing visitor access, passes, and site entry procedures.
  • Responding to incidents, alarms, and emergencies.
  • Supporting evacuations and site security procedures.
  • Locking and unlocking premises as required.
  • Maintaining accurate reports, records, and logbooks.
  • Supporting key management, parking control, and lost property procedures.
  • Delivering excellent customer service while ensuring compliance with site policies and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Valid SIA Licence.
  • Valid UK driving Licence
  • Eligible to obtain BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) and SC (Security Check) Clearance.
  • British nationality required due to site security clearance requirements.
  • Flexible to work days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable employment, education, or address history.
  • Hold a valid UK passport.
  • Have been continuously resident in the UK for the last 5 years.
  • Willing to undergo security screening and background checks.
