Company Description
We’re Hiring: Relief Security Officer
📍 Location: Southampton, Portsmouth
💰 Pay: £14.00 per hour
📅 Hours: 40 hours per week

Grade: 3.2 Relief
To provide a professional Security Officer service in accordance with site assignment instructions and customer requirements, ensuring the safety and security of employees, visitors, property, and assets. The Security Officer will maintain the highest standards of customer service while consistently demonstrating Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness. The successful Security Officer must obtain a valid SIA licence before commencing operational duties on site and be committed to delivering a safe, secure, and welcoming environment at all times.
To be successful in this Security Officer role, candidates must:
- Be a UK National
- Be eligible to obtain SC (Security Clearance)
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Have a minimum of 2 years' Security Officer experience
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly, learn new processes, and thrive in a professional security environment
Job Description
Responsibilities
You’ll play a vital part in keeping people, property, and information safe. That includes:
- Protection of Property & Premises
- Control access to site and monitor security systems.
- Conduct regular security patrols.
- Manage keys, alarms, CCTV, and site security equipment.
- Issue visitor and contractor passes.
- Complete security logs and incident reports.
- Support traffic and parking management where required.

- Health & Safety
- Promote a safe and secure environment for all site users.
- Report hazards, incidents, and unsafe practices.
- Keep emergency routes clear and accessible.
- Respond to emergencies and liaise with the SOC.
- Investigate and report fire alarm activations.
- Support compliance with all health and safety procedures.

Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:
- Valid SIA Licence
- UK National
- Eligible to obtain SC (Security Clearance)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Minimum 2 years' Security Officer experience
- Ability to adapt quickly, learn new processes, and work effectively in a professional environment
- Flexible to work days, nights, and weekends
- Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable work/history record
- Must have held British nationality and resided in the UK for the last 5 years due to site clearance requirements.
- Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken.
