Relief Support Assistant - Abergavenny

What You'll Do...

• Provide daytime and/or night-time staffing cover within 24/7 staffed Supported Accommodation Project supporting young people aged 16 to 24, helping to maintain a safe, secure and welcoming living environment.
• The role includes offering psychologically informed, person-centred support to residents as required, as well as assisting with the delivery of activities and workshops within the hostel to support residents' wellbeing, independence and development.

• The ability to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with young people.
• A clear understanding of confidentiality and the importance of maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
• Experience of working within a care, support or similar environment.
• The ability to remain calm, composed and reassuring when responding to challenging situations.
• The capacity to work effectively on your own initiative, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
• A commitment to delivering a consistently high standard of service to residents.
• An understanding of health and safety responsibilities within a hostel setting.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Willingness to undertake cleaning duties and contribute to maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment.
• Flexibility to work unsociable hours, including evenings, weekends and nights, on an ongoing basis.
• A positive, constructive approach to addressing project-wide issues and supporting residents.
• Experience of managing challenging behaviour and resolving conflict in a professional and respectful manner.
