Are you an organised, proactive person who can bring people, plans, and information together?
Join Green Light as our Relief Workforce and Rostering Coordinator and help ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time.
At Green Light, we support adults with learning disabilities and autism across Cornwall. Good workforce coordination is about more than filling a gap. It helps the people we support see familiar faces and receive safe, consistent support in their homes.
As a Relief Workforce and Rostering Coordinator, you’ll coordinate our Relief workforce, oversee key pre-employment checks, and help managers respond to staffing gaps. You’ll report to the Director of Services while working closely with registered managers across our residential homes.
A Day as Relief Workforce and Rostering Coordinator
As the Relief Workforce and Rostering Coordinator, no two days are identical. You will act as the central operational hub for our relief team, balancing immediate scheduling needs with long-term workforce consistency.
You will combine careful data administration with warm, supportive contact—ensuring our relief team members feel valued, properly inducted, and ready to deliver high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating cover: Maintain an accurate picture of staffing gaps and Relief availability. Work with managers to consider permanent employees first, then Relief workers, and authorised agency cover when necessary.
- Supporting Relief workers: Coordinate availability, hold 6-week check-ins, 12-week reviews, and conduct return-to-work interviews following sickness absence.
- Overseeing compliance: Process Enhanced DBS applications, verify Right to Work documents, and monitor visa expiry dates to keep records clear, compliant, and safe in accordance with Skills for Care guidelines.
- Building familiarity: Proactively arrange home inductions, orientation, and shadow shifts so Relief workers can safely support people across multiple homes.
- Keeping arrangements safe: Match workers to appropriate homes based on training, competence, familiarity, and risk assessments.
- Helping us plan ahead: Share trends on recurring gaps and workforce pressures to support long-term recruitment and operational planning.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
