Property Conservation Services Limited is a specialist contractor with over 25 years of experience in damp proofing and timber treatment for a wide range of properties. Based in Witney, the company has worked on churches, historic buildings, commercial premises, and private homes across Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, and Birmingham. Role Description
The Remedial Surveyor will carry out surveys to diagnose damp, timber decay, and related structural issues in residential, commercial, and historic properties. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Inspecting buildings
- Identifying defects
- Determining causes
- Preparing clear, accurate reports and remedial specifications for clients and internal teams

The role involves liaising with property owners, site managers, and colleagues, providing professional advice, and supporting project planning and delivery. The surveyor will also monitor works on site to ensure they follow recommended methods, safety standards, and company quality requirements.

This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Witney, with a mix of on-site visits, office-based work, and some work from home.
Qualifications
- Strong property surveying skills, with experience diagnosing damp, timber, and related building defects.
- Knowledge of remedial treatments, damp proofing systems, timber preservation methods, and relevant building regulations.
- Ability to produce clear survey reports, specifications, and recommendations using accurate written and numerical information.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
- Solid organizational and time-management abilities to plan surveys, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Competence in using digital tools such as email, word processing, and basic survey/reporting software.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel across the region for site visits.
- Relevant technical qualification in building surveying, construction, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Awareness of health and safety practices on site and commitment to safe working methods.
- Experience with historic or listed buildings is an advantage, as is membership or progress toward membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS, PCA).
