AFRICA SPECIALIST / SENIOR AFRICA SPECIALIST

REMOTE

UP TO £45,000 DOE + PERFORMANCE-RELATED BONUS (OTE UP TO £70,000)

Africa Specialist / Senior Africa Specialist job, remote (based in the South of England), within the independent Africa safari travel industry, offering up to £45,000 DOE plus performance-related bonus (OTE up to £70,000).

This is a hands-on advisory role, managing each traveller’s journey from first enquiry to their return home, building direct relationships with camps, lodges and safari operators across Africa, and taking part in regular, funded research travel to build destination expertise.

Do you?

  • Have detailed, relatively recent first-hand experience of sub-Saharan Africa, and enjoy sharing that knowledge with discerning travellers?
  • Prefer to own a traveller’s journey from first enquiry through to their return home, rather than handing them over to a separate team once the sale is made?
  • Comfortable recommending what’s genuinely right for each traveller, rather than working to a fixed sales target?
  • Value building direct relationships with camps, lodges and safari operators in Africa, rather than relying mainly on ground handlers?

Our Customer

Our client is an independent, specialist Africa tour operator, arranging tailor-made journeys across eastern and southern Africa through direct, first-hand destination knowledge and long-standing supplier relationships. Rather than relying mainly on ground handlers, the team works directly with many of the camps, lodges and safari operators who look after their travellers, and each traveller is looked after by one specialist from their first enquiry until they return home.

They are now looking to grow their team with Africa Specialists and Senior Africa Specialists, giving established Africa travel professionals the opportunity to own the full traveller journey, build deeper destination expertise through regular research travel, and contribute to the ongoing development of their country programmes.

The Role

In this role, you will own the full traveller journey for your Africa clients, from first enquiry to post-trip feedback, combining destination advice with itinerary design, supplier liaison and trip administration.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
