Remote Business Development Executive / Appointment Setter

Switching Made Simple is looking for a confident and motivated Business Development Executive / Appointment Setter to join our growing team.

This is a fully remote, commission-based opportunity with no fixed salary. Earnings are directly linked to the qualified appointments and customers you generate.

The role

Your main responsibility will be to contact UK businesses and identify potential opportunities for our business energy team.

  • You’ll be provided with business data to work through and will use our cloud-based telephone system to make outbound calls.
  • Your role is focused on generating qualified appointments. You will not be expected to provide energy quotations or close the energy contract — our sales team will handle that part of the process.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls to UK businesses
  • Speak with business owners and relevant decision makers
  • Introduce Switching Made Simple and our business energy service
  • Identify businesses that may benefit from reviewing their energy arrangements
  • Qualify potential opportunities
  • Arrange appointments for our sales team
  • Keep accurate records of calls and outcomes
  • Follow up with interested businesses where appropriate
  • Work towards agreed activity and appointment targets

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
