About tapGP
tapGP is a private telehealth platform connecting UK patients with GPs via video and telephone. We operate across extended hours seven days a week, covering a broad range of clinical presentations. We are growing and looking to expand our clinical team with GPs who share our commitment to high-quality remote care.
We take clinical quality seriously. Our GPs are expected to assess and manage patients confidently and thoroughly online. Patient satisfaction and documentation standards are central to how we work.
The role
We are looking for experienced GPs to provide ad-hoc locum cover. All consultations are remote via video or telephone, through our intuitive browser-based platform. Full induction and a practice environment are provided before your first live session.
Sessions run to a structured appointment format with focused slots and light, self-contained admin: prescriptions, referral letters, and sick notes only, completed within the session.

What we're looking for
- GMC-registered GP with a current licence to practise
- Minimum 2 years post-CCT experience in NHS general practice
- Confident managing a wide range of presentations remotely, including acute illness, mental health, and paediatrics, without defaulting unnecessarily to in-person escalation
- Strong documentation habits; your notes are the complete clinical record for every consultation
- Empathetic communication style; our patients are paying privately and expect to feel genuinely heard and cared for
- Current safeguarding certificates (Level 3 Adults and Children) and up-to-date mandatory training

You must hold private indemnity that explicitly covers remote/online consultations and ad-hoc locum work. NHS indemnity (CNSGP) does not cover this role. MPS and MDU both offer suitable policies. Please confirm your cover before applying as this is a condition of engagement. Documentary evidence will be required before your first session.
