The Remote Interpreter role at Word360 is a full-time position based on-site in the United Kingdom. In this role, the interpreter will provide real-time language support via telephone and video platforms, accurately conveying messages between clients and service users in their respective languages.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting in various settings (such as healthcare, corporate, and public services)
  • Ensuring confidentiality
  • Maintaining impartiality

The interpreter will use Word360’s technology systems to manage appointments, document session details, and adhere to service standards and codes of conduct. The role also involves ongoing collaboration with the scheduling team and adherence to quality assurance and data security protocols.

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in at least two languages, including native or near-native fluency in one and excellent command of English.
  • Demonstrated interpreting experience in telephone or video settings, preferably within healthcare, legal, government, or corporate environments.
  • Ability to convey meaning accurately and neutrally, with strong listening, note-taking, and memory skills.
  • Comfort using digital platforms and remote communication tools, with good general IT literacy.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including cultural sensitivity and professional conduct.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection best practices.
  • Relevant interpreter training or certification (e.g., community interpreting qualification, DPSI, or equivalent) is highly beneficial.
  • Previous experience working with language service agencies or public-sector organizations is an advantage.
