The Company
We're building attune's founding cohort of therapists, and I want to name one gap in it openly. Our network is now over 100 therapists, but very few are non-binary or gender-diverse. That matters, because attune matches people on how they think, feel and talk, so when a client asks to work with a non-binary or gender-diverse therapist, I want to meet that with brilliant clinicians, not a short list. This is not a diversity checkbox. It is about doing right by those clients, and about valuing therapists whose perspective our clients are actively asking for.
Attune is a UK platform that matches adults with independent therapists. Instead of sorting by who is nearest or cheapest, we match on relational fit: how someone likes to communicate, the warmth and directness they respond to, the pace they want to work at, how much they need a therapist to be present and human in the room, and how disconnection gets noticed and repaired when it happens. We assess this with a short, style-based questionnaire, the Relational Fit Index, and match each person to the therapists they are most likely to build a strong working relationship with. That is the whole product: not a bigger directory, and not the cheapest list, but a genuine fit between two people, with proper UK clinical governance behind it.

You stay fully independent: your own practice, your own rates, in person, online, or both. We introduce you to clients who are matched to how you actually work, and we handle the admin around it. 15% per attended session and nothing else, no monthly, setup or exit fees. Payouts around 48 hours after each session, encrypted client records and video, calendar integration, and a short working-alliance check-in (WAI-SR) so you can see how the relationship is landing.
You always hold clinical responsibility for your own work, and we support you around safeguarding and escalation. Every therapist is interviewed by a fellow clinician, me, Daniel, our co-founder and clinical lead, not a recruiter. We are keeping this founding cohort deliberately small, around 25 places, so I can speak with everyone properly.
What we're looking for
If you're a registered UK therapist who is non-binary or otherwise gender-diverse, I'd particularly encourage you to apply. This is positive action, not preference: it is an invitation, it does not exclude anyone, and our selection criteria are identical for everyone. Anything you share about your identity is optional and self-declared, and it is only ever used to help clients who ask to be matched that way.

Beyond that, we're looking for therapists who value relational fit and want to work with clients who are genuinely suited to how they work, in person, online, or both.
One thing we ask: where you can, please use a real, non-AI background in sessions rather than a virtual or generated one, so clients feel genuinely invited into your space. If privacy or safety means you need to blur your background, that is always fine.
Qualifications
- A registered or accredited member, in good standing, of a recognised UK professional body: BACP, UKCP, HCPC, BABCP, NCPS or HGI
- A relevant qualification in counselling or psychotherapy (diploma level or above)
- Current professional indemnity insurance
- In regular clinical supervision, in line with your body's requirements
- The right to work in the UK, and a private, confidential space and reliable setup for in-person and/or online sessions
