Lead Counsel – Technology & New Services

EMEA | Global Technology Business

  • This is a remote opportunity based in the UK. Must be based in the UK.

We are working with a major global technology organisation that is looking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel / Lead Counsel to take a senior legal role supporting the development and global rollout of its next generation of services, software and technology solutions.

This is a broad and highly strategic position sitting at the intersection of technology, commercial law and product/service development, with particular exposure to areas including AI, SaaS, software, cloud technology, managed services, sustainability and digital workplace solutions.

The successful individual will lead a legal team supporting new services development, working closely with senior stakeholders and legal colleagues across EMEA, the US, Latin America and Asia Pacific.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters relating to new technology products, services and solutions
  • Supporting the development and global rollout of new services and software offerings
  • Leading and developing a legal team supporting new services development
  • Partnering closely with commercial, product, technology and legal stakeholders internationally
  • Identifying and managing legal and regulatory risk as new products and services are developed
  • Developing legal processes, playbooks, templates and scalable ways of working
  • Working with specialist internal and external counsel where required
  • Helping establish effective processes between legal and service development teams

We are looking for a senior commercial/technology lawyer, ideally with 10+ years’ experience, who has operated within a sophisticated international environment.

You will ideally bring strong experience across technology, SaaS, software development and/or new services, alongside the confidence and gravitas to advise senior leadership.

This would particularly suit someone who enjoys being close to the business and wants to play a key role in shaping how new and emerging technology-led services are brought to market globally.

Experience within a leading international law firm and/or a global in-house legal team would be highly relevant.
