Branch Manager

Our client, a specialist removals company, is currently looking for an experienced Branch Manager to join their team.

As the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the removals branch, ensuring efficient service delivery, excellent customer satisfaction and strong financial performance.

This varied role combines operational management, team leadership, logistics coordination, sales oversight and financial responsibility.

Main Duties Of The Branch Manager

  • Oversee all day:to:day branch activities, including domestic, overseas and commercial removals.
  • Plan and coordinate moving schedules, transport and staffing requirements.
  • Ensure all removals are completed efficiently, safely and on time.
  • Manage fleet usage, maintenance and compliance.
  • Recruit, train and supervise drivers, removal crews and office staff.
  • Set performance targets and conduct regular staff reviews.
  • Promote a positive and safety:focused working environment.
  • Handle customer enquiries, quotations and complaints.
  • Ensure an excellent standard of service from the initial enquiry through to completion of the move.
  • Build and maintain long:term relationships with private customers, clients and corporate accounts.
  • Drive branch revenue through local marketing and sales strategies.
  • Prepare and follow up on quotations.
  • Identify new business opportunities and potential partnerships.
  • Manage branch budgets, operational costs and profitability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, including revenue, margins and job completion rates.
  • Approve expenses and maintain effective control of operational costs.
  • Ensure compliance with transport regulations, company policies and health and safety requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure the safe handling of customers goods.
  • Uphold FIDI and BAR compliance standards.

We are interested in speaking with candidates who have proven management experience within the removals, logistics or transport industry.

The successful Branch Manager will have strong leadership skills, excellent commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple operations within a busy working environment.

Experience Required For This Role

  • Previous experience within removals, logistics or transport management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and problem:solving abilities.
  • A customer:focused approach.
  • Good financial and commercial awareness.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements and transport regulations.
  • IT literacy, including experience using scheduling systems, CRM software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to make decisions and take accountability.
  • A flexible and hands:on approach.
  • A management or logistics:related qualification would be advantageous.
  • A CPC qualification would be desirable.
  • A full UK driving licence.
