Job Description
- Be able to safely move our customer’s furniture and personal items including lifting and manual handling, packing and unpacking items, wrapping and packing furniture, loading and unloading vehicles, and disassembling and reassembling household goods as required.
- Checking with operations teams and customers which items are to be moved.
- Compilation of contents inventories during pack out and removal of customer furniture and personal items, to include noting of pre-existing damage and where necessary further documenting this with digital photographs.
- Wrap and pack items professionally and securely to prevent damage.
- Taking apart larger items of furniture for packing and removals.
- Collect and deliver furniture and personal items for and on behalf of BELFOR UK Ltd, and its customers.
- Loading and securing furniture and personal items into your vehicle for safe transportation.
- Ensure adequate care is taken when transporting furniture and personal items to and from BELFOR facilities.
- Ensure that great care is taken over carrying furniture in and out of customer’s homes.
- Ensure that you deal with customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Perform a weekly routine maintenance to the BELFOR removals vehicles you are responsible for, including the checking of water, oil, tyre pressure, tread wear and note and report all defects and faults to the Fleet Coordinator.
- Be responsible for weekly cleaning of the BELFOR removals vehicles both internally and externally.
- Ensure that BELFOR removals vehicles are suitably stocked with appropriate levels of packing materials.
- Reporting of any damage to furniture and personal contents to the Field Manager upon immediately noticing the damage.
- Assisting with removals and storage nationally when required.
- Transferring furniture and personal items from the BELFOR removals vehicles into suitable storage crates and containers in branches, ensuring items are loaded and stacked correctly.
- Prepare all relevant paperwork, including on-site documents to the pre-agreed company standard.
- Maintain close liaison with their Field Manager Warehouse Manager, other technicians and Management as required.
- Ensure that Quality, Management, and Health & Safety procedures are both understood and fully implemented.
- Be flexible to assist Area Technicians and or to operate as a site based technician when required on both commercial and residential claims.
- To assist in the cleaning and restoration of contents at the unit under the direction of the Warehouse Manager.
- Actively participate in the out of hours/urgent claims.
- Other ad hoc duties as reasonably requested by the business.

- Experience in the Removals industry or similar is an advantage.
- Excellent customer service and team work skills.
- Excellent timekeeping, reliable, and able to work unsociable hours from time to time.
- Smart appearance (uniform and PPE equipment will be provided).
- You must have good level of English and be able to communicate clearly and calmly to customers and crew.
- Be able to safely move our customer’s furniture and personal items including lifting and manual handling, packing and unpacking items, wrapping and packing furniture, loading and unloading vehicles, and disassembling and reassembling household goods as required.
- Experience in packing and removals preferred.
- Clean manual driving licence.
- Reasonably physically fit, able to move moderately heavy items.
- Able to complete paperwork.
