Exciting Opportunity: Transplant Specialist Nurse
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Transplant Specialist Nurse team. The post holder should have extensive knowledge of renal nursing, excellent communication skills, a passion for delivering high quality care and be able to work collaboratively within the team. Qualifications in prescribing and physical examination are desirable, but this could be a band 6 training post until band 7 competencies are achieved, and full support will be given to attain this.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage nurse-led face to face and telephone clinics.
- Manage the medication for this group of patients in conjunction with MDT discussion and according to local and national policies, assessing.
- Participate in research and lead in clinical audit.
- Participating in networking at local and national conferences.
- Deliver training for colleagues, support students on placement within the transplant team.
- Lead in the follow- up and risk assessment of any patient who has had any Health Acquired Infections, or complications post transplant such as steroid induced diabetes.
