Haemodialysis Nurse Band 7 Unit Manager
We are looking to recruit an experienced haemodialysis nurse as Band 7 Unit Manager to lead the delivery of haemodialysis treatment to patients.
We are a 28 station hub unit and work closely with the 6 satellite dialysis units across the region, the renal ward at Preston and our Home Therapy Unit based at Chorley that make up our renal service.
The unit is open from 7am to 9pm Monday to Saturday and 9am to 5pm Sunday. We also have an on call service overnight for out of hours, emergency dialysis.
The post holder will lead an enthusiastic team of staff to ensure a high standard of care is provided to our dialysis patients and ensuring that the unit and services are utilised efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- To work at a senior level within the department using clinical skills and knowledge to give advice and support to staff, patients and relatives.
- Leading the clinical team in planning effective, timely and safe haemodialysis care in line with Trust/departmental protocols.
- Provide professional leadership within the nursing environment and foster collaborative partnerships with the multi-professional team.
- Actively participate in the development and delivery of appropriate training for all staff, ensuring all staff are updated clinically and professionally.
- Lead the nursing service within the department to ensure there are consistent standards of care using an holistic approach.
- Manage staff rotas, annual leave and sickness/absence appropriately.
- Take an active role in delivery of renal services, including the development and expansion of the service, working with the matron and key stakeholders.
- Manage the appraisal system for the staff with personal development plans and reviews.
- Work closely with all members of the MDT
