About Cornish House Energy
Cornish House Energy is a growing UK energy development company focused on originating, developing and transacting renewable energy and energy infrastructure projects. We focus on solar, BESS and wider energy infrastructure opportunities, working across the project lifecycle from initial site identification and land acquisition through grid connection, planning, ready-to-build (RTB), investment and transaction. We are building a growing pipeline of projects across the UK and are looking for an ambitious Renewable Energy Development Manager to help accelerate our growth.
The Role
The Renewable Energy Development Manager will be responsible for sourcing, originating and developing solar and BESS opportunities across the UK. This is a highly commercial, hands-on role covering the full project lifecycle. You will identify new development opportunities, build relationships with landowners and developers, identify RTB projects for acquisition, manage the development pipeline and support the acquisition, sale and brokerage of renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and originate new solar and BESS development opportunities
- Identify suitable land and assess sites for grid, planning, access and development potential
- Build and manage relationships with landowners, farmers, developers, agents, investors and industry partners
- Identify RTB solar and BESS projects and portfolios for potential acquisition
- Source development pipelines and projects for acquisition or partnership
- Lead landowner negotiations and secure heads of terms and development agreements
- Manage grid connection applications and relationships with DNOs and technical advisers
- Coordinate planning strategies and external planning consultants
- Manage projects through the development process towards RTB
- Evaluate projects commercially, including land, grid, planning constraints, development costs and potential project value
- Identify and support opportunities to acquire, sell or broker renewable energy projects
- Develop relationships with investors, buyers and developers to facilitate project transactions
- Maintain and manage the company’s project pipeline and CRM
- Work closely with the CEO on acquisitions, disposals, partnerships, investment and commercial strategy

Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in renewable energy, infrastructure development, property development or a closely related sector
- Strong understanding of UK solar, BESS, planning and grid connection processes
- Proven experience in project origination, development, acquisitions or transactions
- Existing network across landowners, developers, agents, investors or renewable energy professionals
- Strong commercial, negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Experience assessing projects and understanding their development and transaction value
- Highly organised, proactive and commercially driven
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and take ownership from initial origination through to transaction
