Renewable Energy Programme Director
We are conducting a confidential search for a Renewable Energy Programme Director to lead delivery of a portfolio of offshore wind and grid infrastructure programmes for an energy organisation based in Edinburgh, working hybrid. Scotland's ScotWind pipeline has made Edinburgh a hub for offshore renewables development, and this is a director-level role for a programme leader who can take projects from consent through construction.
Role Overview
In this role, you will:
- Own programme governance across multiple concurrent offshore wind and grid connection projects
- Manage relationships with Crown Estate Scotland, marine licensing authorities, and Ofgem on consenting and connection agreements
- Oversee EPC contractor selection, negotiation, and performance management
- Lead risk management across construction, supply chain, and planning consent workstreams
- Manage programme budgets and schedules against final investment decision commitments

You will:
- Build and lead a team of project managers and technical leads
- Coordinate community and stakeholder engagement across coastal and grid-affected communities
- Represent the programme to investors, joint venture partners, and regulators
- Drive supply chain localisation strategy
- Contribute to the organisation's broader net-zero delivery roadmap

Nice to Have
- Experience with ScotWind or Celtic Sea offshore wind consenting processes
- Background in marine licensing and environmental impact assessment
- Track record managing EPC contracts on large infrastructure programmes
- Experience with grid connection agreements and Ofgem processes
- Chartered status (APM, ICE, or equivalent)
