Role Description
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a challenging role in our expert-led Allianz Renewable Energy team. As an integral member within the Regional team, your focus will be on profitable growth, retention, and technical excellence in building a world-class, multi-niche Insurance & Engineering-related service, with ambitious growth targets for 2026 and beyond.
You’ll participate in the Allianz Global P&C Academy, enhancing your skills in underwriting, risk engineering, pricing, and claims management while exchanging best practices across the Allianz Group. Allianz Insurance supports professional qualifications, such as IFoA and CII, where considered appropriate for the business and the individual.
This is a hybrid role based out of our London office with the expectation to attend the office 2 days per week. This role also requires the flexibility to travel to other office locations and broker sites nationally when required.
Salary Information
- Pay: Circa £50,000 per year.
- Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
Your role will vary day to day, but here is a bit of what you can expect:
- Underwrite renewable energy risks, balancing profitable growth with technical excellence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and customers to support retention and new business opportunities.
- Negotiate confidently with brokers and represent Allianz in the market.
- Manage large and complex cases within your underwriting authority.
- Review submissions and make informed underwriting decisions aligned to Allianz appetite and market conditions.
- Support the delivery of financial and operational performance targets.
- Collaborate with colleagues across underwriting, engineering, claims, and other business areas to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
- Develop relationships with key clients and maintain a strong presence in the regional market through face-to-face engagement.
- Coach, mentor, and support the development of less experienced team members.
- Contribute to the continued growth and success of Allianz's Renewables proposition.

Skills And Experience We Are Looking For
- Renewables underwriting experience with knowledge and experience of London market business.
- Confident and articulate – you need to be comfortable engaging with brokers and undertaking negotiations, proactively representing Allianz to the market.
- Analytical and Strategic – you need to be able to review submissions and understand Allianz’s appetite whilst considering market conditions.
- Team player but self-motivated and willing to train/mentor junior members of the team.
- Competent IT skills.
