Pay: £50k+ depending on experience
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and organised Renewable Energy Supervisor to oversee domestic and commercial renewable energy installations across Essex, Suffolk and Hertfordshire.
You will supervise solar PV, battery storage and EV charge point installations, including works delivered as part of PAS 2035 domestic retrofit projects, committed to high standards of safety and workmanship, and comfortable working independently while remaining part of a wider project team. The position requires regular travel between project sites.
You will work closely with the Contract Manager, Working Foreman, Project Managers, Administration Team, electricians and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise solar PV, battery storage and EV charge point installations.
- Oversee renewable energy works delivered under PAS 2035.
- Lead and support electricians and renewable installation teams.
- Allocate workloads and monitor progress against installation programmes.
- Complete detailed site surveys and assess equipment locations, cable routes, access requirements and installation risks.
- Review designs, specifications and scopes of work before installation.
- Coordinate labour, materials, scaffolding and specialist subcontractors.
- Carry out site inspections and quality checks.
- Review electrical certificates, commissioning records, photographs and installation evidence.
- Ensure defects and incomplete works are recorded and rectified.
- Complete and review MCS certification documentation.
- Prepare and submit G98 and G99 applications.
- Ensure risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work are followed.
- Carry out toolbox talks and monitor working-at-height arrangements.
- Communicate professionally with clients, residents and project teams.
- Provide technical support and guidance to engineers and apprentices.

Skills and Experience
- Previous experience supervising electrical or renewable energy installations.
- Strong solar PV installation experience.
- Experience with battery storage systems.
- Experience with domestic or commercial EV charge point installations.
- Experience completing site surveys and planning electrical works.
- A good understanding of electrical installations and industry standards.
- Knowledge of MCS certification processes.
- Experience completing or supporting G98 and G99 applications.
- An understanding of PAS 2035 retrofit projects.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage multiple live projects and changing priorities.
- Good attention to detail when reviewing technical documentation.
- Competence using email, spreadsheets, online portals and project-management systems.
- Hold a full clean UK driving license

Essential Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- Current BS 7671 qualification.
- Inspection and Testing qualification.
- Solar PV and battery storage qualifications.
EV charge point qualifications, ECS/CSCS cards and SSSTS or SMSTS would be advantageous but are not essential.
