Rent Advisor

As a Rent Advisor, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting tenants to manage their rent accounts and avoid falling into debt. Working as part of a supportive team, you will proactively engage with customers, helping them find sustainable solutions tailored to their individual circumstances.
This is more than a collections role — it’s about making a meaningful impact, ensuring tenants can maintain their homes while contributing to reducing overall rent debt across the organisation.
Location
Riduna Park (Woodbridge base) - travel to other Flagship offices will be required

What You’ll Be Doing
- Proactively contacting tenants who have missed payments or may be at risk of rent debt
- Supporting customers to complete income and expenditure assessments to understand their situation
- Creating realistic, tailored action plans to help tenants get back on track
- Managing cases through to resolution, maintaining ongoing dialogue and support
- Providing guidance on welfare benefits and assisting with applications
- Signposting customers to external support and advice agencies where appropriate
- Keeping accurate records of all interactions and actions taken
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to resolve wider issues (repairs, anti-social behaviour, etc.)

What You'll Bring
- Experience in a customer-focused role (telephone or face-to-face)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive or challenging conversations
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Ability to stay calm and de-escalate difficult situations
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload using data and insight
- Proactive and solution-focused approach
Desirable
- Experience in debt recovery, financial support, or housing
