Salary: Up to £38,096

Basis: Full-time, fixed term until 31st March 2027
We have an excellent opportunity for a Rent Officer to join our Income team. Delivering an efficient customer-focused income collection service, you will work to achieve team KPIs and personal targets. You'll help our customers by implementing affordable payment plans, educating them in finance management techniques, and supporting in applications for benefits/universal credit.

Part of the role will require site visits on an ad-hoc basis and preparing and presenting cases in court, so a driving licence and use of your own vehicle or alternative means of getting to the required locations is essential.
This role is on a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2027.
What could you be doing?
The role is to work as part of a team delivering an effective and efficient customer-focused income collection service. You will be responsible for collecting any income owing, including current and former tenant debt, court costs, recharge repair costs, and any other sundry debts that may arise.

You will liaise with customers to agree repayment plans, taking into account financial circumstances, and encouraging them to look at income/expenditure. You will also work collaboratively with other Platform colleagues to achieve the best outcomes.
What are some things we need from you?
The ideal candidate will have a background in debt recovery and possession proceedings within a housing context or experienced in a target-driven environment. Experience of managing accounts is also desirable.
You will be comfortable having challenging conversations with customers and be able to handle these showing empathy. You will also have excellent negotiating skills with the ability to be calm, resilient, and manage difficult conversations. Organisation skills and the ability to work to timeframes is also key to your success in this role.
Where is this role based?
This is a home-based role, however, there is the requirement for office-based working on occasion. You will also be required to attend court proceedings around the Lincolnshire area.
