Chelmsford or Southend

£54,000 per annum

Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)

We are looking for a Rent and Service Charge Specialist to lead the accurate setting, implementation, and recovery of rents and service charges across the Association's housing portfolio, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, tenancy agreements, and organisational policies. The role is responsible for maximising income, maintaining the integrity of rent and service charge data, supporting long-term financial planning, and providing expert advice to ensure that rents and service charges are fair, transparent, sustainable, and fully recoverable.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the annual rent setting process across the housing portfolio, ensuring all rent increases are calculated accurately and implemented in accordance with government rent policy, the Rent Standard, tenancy agreements, and organisational policies.
  • Produce and maintain detailed rent models to support annual rent reviews and budget setting.
  • Validate rent calculations and undertake quality assurance checks prior to implementation.
  • Ensure all rent changes are correctly uploaded to housing management and finance systems within agreed timescales.
  • Maximise service charge recovery whilst ensuring charges remain transparent, fair, and compliant.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
