Rental & Used Controller
We’re looking for a commercially minded Rental & Used Controller to join our Rental and Used team.
This is a key role supporting the Rental and Used business, providing accurate financial and commercial reporting alongside meaningful analysis to help drive performance and continuous improvement.
Working closely with the Rental and Used Management Team, you’ll provide insight into financial performance, monitor key indicators and support effective commercial decision-making across the division.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing accurate monthly accounts, commentary and balance sheet information.
- Supporting internal and external audit requirements with accurate and timely information.
- Preparing financial forecasts and supporting profit planning.
- Developing, monitoring and analysing key performance indicators.
- Providing commercial reporting, performance monitoring and financial advice to business leaders.
- Monitoring divisional performance and identifying inconsistencies or areas for improvement.
- Monitoring, controlling and reporting on Rental and Used divisional spend.
- Supporting the creation of performance targets and budgets, including the information and calculations behind them.
- Creating and maintaining divisional bonus and commission schemes and their relevant targets.
- Producing management information covering the financial performance of operating areas within Rental and Used.
- Supporting improvements to management information systems to increase performance, efficiency and profitability.
- Driving continuous improvement in the quality and efficiency of reporting.
- Supporting and developing the team through regular conversations, reviews and team meetings.

Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who combines strong financial knowledge with a commercial mindset and can turn financial information into meaningful insight for the wider business.
You’ll be comfortable working with detailed financial information while maintaining a clear view of the bigger commercial picture. Accuracy, organisation and the ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders will be important in this role.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Financially and commercially focused, with strong analytical skills.
- Confident working with management accounts, forecasting, budgets and performance reporting.
- Highly accurate with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable analysing KPIs and identifying trends, inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Able to translate financial information into clear, practical insight for business leaders.
- An effective communicator who can build positive working relationships across the business.
- Organised and able to manage competing priorities and reporting deadlines.
- Proactive in identifying ways to improve processes, reporting quality and efficiency.
- Comfortable supporting and developing team members. Focused on continuous improvement and delivering high-quality work.
