Job Title: Rental Returns Manager
Salary
Base salary of £38,000 plus bonus scheme
Hours
Full time, permanent, rotational shift pattern Monday – Sunday
About the Role
The Returns Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and professional return of rental vehicles, ensuring high standards of customer service, operational efficiency, and asset management. This role involves managing scheduling, teamwork, outsource supplier relationships, stock control, and performance targets to ensure a seamless customer experience and the effective turnover of fleet vehicles.
This role is crucial to ensuring a smooth and efficient return process while maintaining customer satisfaction, optimizing fleet availability, and managing operational targets effectively.
- Oversee vehicle returns process, ensuring quality checks and efficient operations
- Develop and manage return schedules to optimize vehicle availability and minimize downtime
- Collaborate with rental and fleet teams for effective vehicle management
- Handle customer interactions professionally, addressing concerns and improving service
- Manage vehicle inspections, damage assessments, and coordinate repairs
- Lead and motivate returns team, set targets, and provide coaching and training
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate SLAs, and monitor performance
- Track vehicle availability, condition, and manage stock audits for compliance
- Monitor KPIs and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce costs

Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a vehicle rental, automotive, or logistics environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, damage assessment, and stock control.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Qualifications in business, logistics, automotive management, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
- Full UK driving license
