Department:
Sapphire Utility Solutions, a Lanes Group Company, specializes in multiple divisions.
Severn Trent Water supplies clean, safe drinking water to millions of customers across the Midlands and surrounding areas. The company is committed to delivering reliable water services, reducing leakage, investing in infrastructure, and protecting the environment for future generations.
Through its Severn Trent Clean Water contract, the team plays a vital role in maintaining the region's water distribution network. Responsibilities include repairing water mains and associated assets, delivering reinstatement and traffic management services, and supporting AMP8 objectives through leakage reduction, network renewal, and lead pipe replacement programmes.
Purpose of the Role:
To support the repair, maintenance, and installation of clean water network assets, working alongside an experienced Team Leader to deliver safe, high-quality services to customers across the network.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career within the utilities industry. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

- Support the repair, maintenance, and installation of clean water network assets
- Assist with excavation, reinstatement, and general site activities
- Safely use tools, equipment, vehicles, and plant in line with training and company procedures
- Follow all health, safety, environmental, and water hygiene requirements
- Maintain safe, clean, and secure work sites
- Assist with traffic management and site safety measures where required
- Work alongside the Team Leader to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards
- Communicate professionally with customers, the public, and other stakeholders
- Complete basic documentation and report any incidents, defects, or safety concerns
- Participate in training and development opportunities to build skills and knowledge
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required
Key Requirements
Skills & Experience:
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Good work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safety
Desirable:
- Experience in utilities, construction, civil engineering, highways, groundwork, or a similar outdoor operational environment
- Experience using hand tools and equipment
- Understanding of health and safety practices
