Repair Operations Manager

Location: Cambridge (Onsite)
Salary: £50,000–£65,000
Type: Full-time, Permanent

My client, a leading communications technology business, is looking for a Repair Operations Manager to lead its repair service operations. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end performance of the repair centre, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service across a fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the repair centre and manage service delivery against KPIs and SLAs
  • Drive capacity planning, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage budgets, resources, and inventory to optimise performance
  • Oversee technical repair capability and maintain high engineering standards
  • Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Customer Support teams
  • Develop and mentor the repair operations team, driving performance and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001, Health & Safety, and security requirements
  • Support commercial activities, including tenders, pricing, and service proposals

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience
  • Proven experience managing repair, service, or production operations within an engineering environment
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing KPIs, budgets, and operational performance
  • Experience driving Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent stakeholder management and customer-facing experience
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
  • Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC)
