Repairs Administrator – 3 Month Contract
Location: Basildon, Essex
Rate: £18.66 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 3 Month Contract
Hours: Full Time
Working Pattern: Hybrid Working – 3 Days Office-Based Per Week
Pay: Bi-weekly
Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-oriented Repairs Administrator to join the Housing Repairs team at Basildon Council. In this role, you will be instrumental in handling repair requests, addressing customer inquiries and complaints, and providing scheduling support. You will also manage housing disrepair administration in collaboration with Morgan Sindall. This position is ideal for individuals with robust administrative abilities and experience in housing, repairs, customer service, or property maintenance sectors.
Responsibilities
- Handle repair requests, inquiries, and complaints through phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Offer administrative support to the Housing Repairs service.
- Keep precise records within housing and repairs systems.
- Aid in scheduling operatives and managing daily repairs administration.
- Process rechargeable repair orders and associated paperwork.
- Investigate and address housing disrepair claims and customer complaints.
- Provide guidance and updates to tenants, leaseholders, colleagues, and contractors.
- Ensure all tasks are completed within established service standards and timelines.
- Assist in performance monitoring and reporting activities.
- Consistently deliver a professional and customer-focused service.

Essential Requirements
- Prior administrative experience in housing, repairs, property services, or a customer service setting.
- Experience in managing customer inquiries and complaints.
- Strong organizational and data entry capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle a demanding workload and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in IT, including databases and Microsoft Office.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy.

Desirable
- Experience in Social Housing or Local Authority services.
- Understanding of housing repairs and maintenance procedures.
- Experience with housing disrepair cases.
- Experience supporting schedulers or repairs teams.
