Introduction

Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service and supporting tenants across Lewisham’s housing stock? We’re looking for a Repairs Officer with strong communication, organisation and repairs coordination skills. You’ll help manage repair requests, liaise with residents and contractors, and ensure works are completed to a high standard. Join us and make a real difference in a fast-paced, customer-focused housing service.

What’s the role?

You will manage and coordinate repair requests from residents, ensuring issues are progressed quickly and effectively. You will liaise with tenants, contractors and internal teams to arrange appointments, monitor works and resolve queries. You will maintain accurate records, update systems and support the delivery of a high-quality repairs service. You will help ensure homes are safe, well maintained and that residents receive a professional, customer-focused service.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be organised, accurate and confident managing repairs from start to finish, have strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach. You’ll be able to work well with residents, contractors and internal teams and keep clear records, follow processes and manage competing priorities. You’ll be proactive in resolving issues and ensuring works are completed properly. Most importantly, you’ll care about delivering a safe, reliable service for residents.

Location

The job is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, London, SE6 4RU, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.

Special conditions

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
  • A relevant qualification in housing, repairs, building maintenance, construction, customer service or business administration is desirable.
  • A willingness to undertake further training and development relevant to the role is essential.

Salary

£34,863-£41,637 per annum (Scale 5 - SO1 Career Grade)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the minimum spinal column point (SCP) for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the scale), which is subject to evidential proof.
