We’re recruiting for a Repairs Supervisor

Contractually based out of our Basingstoke office, covering the North Hampshire area! This is a 12-month fixed term contract position, and is full time working 37 hours per week.

Your time will be split between office working, and time out on site with your trade team, but also allows for hybrid home working. You’ll also participate in the emergency on-call rota as required. You’ll be required to work standard core business hours, however there may be times where you’ll need to work 10:00am-6:00pm.

Here’s The Facts About The Role

We're looking for a proactive and customer-focused Repairs Supervisor to join our Property Services team and help deliver an outstanding repairs service to our customers. Leading and supporting a multi-disciplined team of trades operatives, you'll play a key role in ensuring repairs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard, in line with our SLAs, while creating a positive customer experience at every stage. You'll provide technical guidance, support performance management and work closely with planners, surveyors and contractors to ensure our homes remain safe, well maintained and compliant. You’ll work with your team to ensure an exceptional level of quality assurance is provided. But, when on the occasions where complaints are made, a full investigation is carried out to resolve matters quickly. You’ll be tasked with making sure the right action is taken to reduce complaints in future, the quality of the works improves, and customer satisfaction increases.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference within the housing sector. As a supervisor, you'll drive high standards of workmanship, customer service and H&S, while promoting a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and teamwork. You'll be responsible for monitoring quality, productivity and value for money, supporting operational performance and helping to ensure repairs are completed right first time for our customers. You’ll conduct regular reviews with your team members making sure any training needs are identified and will manage any absence and performance issues where needed. You’ll also recruit new staff and take necessary action to make sure your team remain fully skilled, flexible and high performing, to carry out their roles.

About You

You’ll have experience supervising trades operatives, contractors or similar within a busy repairs and maintenance environment, with a strong understanding of responsive repairs from diagnosis through to completion. You'll be confident managing quality standards and resolving complex repair issues while maintaining excellent relationships. Strong communication, decision-making and people management skills are essential, as well as having the knowledge of basic building pathology, HHSRS, Awaab's Law. Experience in the social housing sector would be advantageous but is not essential. You'll have competent IT skills, organisational skills and the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
