Repairs Supervisor
Burton Upon Trent
Up to £42,047
We are looking for a Repairs Supervisor to lead the effective delivery of a customer-focused, value-for-money responsive repairs service across occupied and vacant homes. Reporting to the Repairs Manager, you will supervise works in progress, coordinate trade operatives and subcontractors, and work closely with customers to make sure repairs are completed safely, on time and to the right standard.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead, support and motivate a team of operatives, including performance management, one-to-one meetings, training and development.
- Plan and schedule labour and resources so that service targets are met efficiently.
- Visit sites, assess risks and oversee work through to successful completion.
- Monitor workmanship, resolve delays and recalls, and drive continuous improvement.
- Champion health, safety and wellbeing across the service.
- Provide clear direction to subcontractors and control quality, timescales and costs.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, providing advice and resolving complaints effectively.
- Maintain accurate records, audit trails and performance information, making full use of relevant IT systems.

- Proven ability of supervising responsive repairs, maintenance or a comparable operational service.
- Confident people-management skills and the ability to set clear expectations and address performance issues.
- Strong planning, problem-solving and customer-service skills.
- A practical understanding of quality standards, risk assessment and safe working practices.
- The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, suppliers, subcontractors and customers.
- A full driving licence, access to a vehicle and appropriate insurance.
- Flexibility to attend occasional out-of-hours incidents and, if required, participate in the emergency standby rota.
