Repairs Support Officer – Career Grade 5–6
Start your career in Housing Repairs and help keep repairs moving for Croydon residents.
The role
We’re looking for a Repairs Support Officer to join our Housing Repairs service.
This is a career-grade role, offering the opportunity to join at Grade 5 and develop towards the full Grade 6 Repairs Support Officer role.
You’ll provide administrative and customer support across the repairs service, helping to make sure enquiries, outstanding works and issues are followed up and progressed. You’ll work with residents, repairs teams, contractors and other Housing colleagues, acting as an important link between frontline and back-office services.
Your work will include monitoring outstanding works orders, responding to customer enquiries, coordinating information and actions, supporting the arrangement and follow-up of inspections, dealing with complaints and customer feedback and helping to make sure identified works are completed in a timely way. You’ll also contribute to monitoring performance, identifying issues and supporting a good-quality, value-for-money repairs service.
As you develop, you’ll build your knowledge of responsive repairs, property maintenance and the building environment, while taking on a broader range of work with greater independence.
What we’re looking for at entry level
You don’t need previous responsive repairs or social housing experience to join us at Grade 5.
We’re looking for someone with experience of working with customers or the public who can provide a good standard of customer service.
You’ll need to be organised, able to manage competing priorities and comfortable following up enquiries and actions to make sure things are progressed. You’ll communicate clearly, build positive working relationships and work effectively with colleagues and others involved in delivering the service.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
