About the Role
The Replenishment Planning Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and ensuring the timely delivery of raw materials, components, and supplies needed for fabrication and assembly processes across UK locations. This role requires strong procurement principles, supplier management, and coordination with internal teams to maintain optimal inventory levels while adhering to cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
- Conduct material requirements analysis, initiate replenishment orders, and oversee end-to-end execution to ensure timely and accurate material availability aligned with operational demand.
- Analyse operational trends and consider sales insight to make data-driven procurement decisions.
- Issue purchase orders (POs) and follow up on order status to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any order discrepancies, delays, or quality issues.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.

Order Management
- Issue purchase orders (POs) and follow up on order status to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any order discrepancies, delays, or quality issues.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
Data and System Management
- Maintain accurate records for: Supplier profiles / Material master data / Pricing and Contract terms.
- Maintain safety stock thresholds and reorder points based on consumption patterns.
- Act as a key user for SAP MM/PP modules, supporting procurement and production planning workflows.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure purchased materials meet specifications.

Experience
- Extensive purchasing experience with familiarity with SAP / other leading ERP software, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills across internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Self-motivated and collaborative team player with a proactive approach to challenges.
Desirable
- Professional certifications: CIPS, APICS, or equivalent.
- Exposure to multi-site operations or regional procurement coordination is a plus.
