Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Reporter role based in Rogerstone. The Reporter will research and develop news stories related to cybersecurity, connected devices, and regulatory developments relevant to Finite State’s work.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Gathering information from internal experts and external sources
- Conducting interviews
- Verifying facts
- Producing clear, accurate written news content for various channels
The role involves writing articles, briefs, and feature pieces, as well as collaborating with colleagues to create multimedia content such as videos, podcasts, or interactive reports. The Reporter will work closely with communications and marketing teams to align coverage with organizational priorities and ensure consistent, timely reporting.

Qualifications

- Strong Reporting and News Writing skills, with the ability to produce accurate and engaging stories under deadlines.
- Excellent Communication and Writing skills, including clear, concise language and audience-appropriate tone.
- Experience with Multimedia content creation, such as video, audio, or digital storytelling formats.
- Demonstrated ability to research complex technical or regulatory topics and translate them into accessible content.
- Relevant experience in journalism, communications, or a related field; prior reporting on technology, cybersecurity, or regulatory issues is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Comfort working in an on-site, collaborative environment and engaging with subject matter experts across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
