Reporter – private markets APAC

The team Growing our Asia-Pacific private markets coverage is a strategic priority for With Intelligence and the successful candidate will play an important role in expanding our intelligence offering across the region.

This role sits within our global Private Markets editorial team, working alongside experienced editors and reporters covering private equity and private credit markets across the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific.

The focus is on delivering proprietary, forward-looking and actionable intelligence to a global audience of fund managers, investors and service providers. Through exclusive reporting, market analysis and industry insight, the team helps subscribers identify opportunities, understand competitive dynamics and stay ahead of market developments.

Alongside breaking news and exclusive reporting, the team produces trend analysis, market insights and longer-form reports that highlight the developments shaping private markets globally.

Responsibilities and impact:

Proprietary Reporting and Content Development

  • Produce a consistent stream of high-quality reporting on private equity and private credit fund managers across Asia-Pacific.
  • Develop and deliver proprietary, forward-looking and actionable intelligence that provides value to subscribers.
  • Identify and report on emerging market developments, fundraising activity, performance trends and competitive dynamics.
  • Pitch and write news stories, trend pieces and analysis that help explain developments shaping the private markets industry.
  • Consistently meet editorial performance objectives relating to quality, exclusivity, quantity and subscriber value.

Relationship Development and Market Knowledge

  • Build and maintain a growing network of industry contacts across the private markets ecosystem.
  • Conduct interviews with fund managers, advisers, placement agents and other market participants to uncover proprietary intelligence.
  • Develop a strong understanding of private equity and private credit markets across Asia-Pacific, including key firms, strategies and industry trends.
  • Monitor industry developments, competitor activity and market themes to identify opportunities for differentiated reporting.

  • Work closely with editorial colleagues across regions to contribute to a coordinated global coverage strategy.
  • Collaborate with Data and Insights teams to support the development of comprehensive private markets intelligence.
  • Contribute reporting, market knowledge and industry feedback that helps strengthen With Intelligence's coverage and understanding of Asia-Pacific markets.
  • Support the development of reports, research initiatives and other editorial projects throughout the year.

Industry Engagement and Representation

  • Attend industry conferences, networking events and meetings to develop relationships and uncover story opportunities.
  • Represent With Intelligence professionally in interactions with sources, subscribers and industry participants.
  • Contribute to webinars, reports, podcasts, videos and other thought-leadership initiatives where appropriate.
  • Help strengthen With Intelligence's reputation as a leading source of private markets intelligence across Asia-Pacific.

What we are looking for:

  • At least three years' experience covering financial services, asset management or private markets in reporting roles.
  • Experience covering private equity, private credit or alternative investments is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop sources, uncover exclusive information and produce high-quality journalism.
  • Strong interviewing, research and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and concisely.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in private markets, investment strategies and industry trends.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative global team.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work from our Hong Kong or Singapore office under a hybrid-working arrangement and attend industry events across the region.
