The Associated Press is an independent global news organization dedicated to factual reporting. Founded in 1846, AP today remains the most trusted source of fast, accurate, unbiased news in all formats and the essential provider of the technology and services vital to the news business. More than half the world's population sees AP journalism every day.
Why this role matters:
The Associated Press is looking for a Senior Newsletter Editor to shape our largest daily send to our loyal audience, the Morning Wire.
Based in London, this editor will work closely with our London-based writer to curate AP’s exceptional global journalism for this engaged and growing audience. We are looking for someone with deep and comprehensive news judgment and extensive experience with US digital habits. You will curate and edit for this morning newsletter, and spot stories, photos and videos that we’ll use in other newsletters throughout the week. You’ll need line editing experience and solid headline writing skills. You need to be comfortable sorting through a firehouse of content to identify and prioritize the stories we need for newsletter audiences.
This job will also entail working with audience metrics and most importantly we’ll need you to be able to use your strong news experience to connect the dots in ways that will help us best serve our growing audiences. You’ll work closely with other newsletter team members, as well as our partners in product, design, the engagement team and global news desks. You will report to the Newsletter Editor in New York and work closely on launching additional newsletters and refine ones in our existing portfolio. You will have your hands on several other newsletters during the week as needed, wearing multiple hats from production to editing.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
