An excellent opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified accountant to join a well-established business in Birmingham in a broad Reporting Accountant role.

This would suit someone who has recently completed their ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification and is looking to take the next step in their career within a sizeable and commercially focused finance function.

Working as part of the wider finance team, you will support the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting while gaining exposure across a varied business.

The Role

Responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Supporting monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting
  • Preparation and review of management and statutory reporting information
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and wider financial planning activity
  • Providing analysis and commentary around financial performance
  • Working with stakeholders across finance and the wider business
  • Supporting audit requirements and process improvement
  • Assisting with ad hoc reporting and wider finance projects

About you

We are looking for a newly qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant with a strong grounding in financial accounting and reporting.

You may currently be working in practice and considering your first move into industry, or already be working within a finance team and looking for a broader role with greater exposure.

You will ideally have:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or be at the point of qualifying
  • Strong financial accounting and reporting knowledge
  • Good analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence working with financial data and Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • A proactive approach and willingness to develop
