Job Summary
The AI Security Institute (AISI) is the largest team in a government dedicated to understanding AI capabilities and risks in the world.
Our mission is to equip governments with an empirical understanding of the safety of advanced AI systems. We conduct research to understand the capabilities and impacts of advanced AI, and develop and test risk mitigations. We focus on risks with security implications, including the potential of AI to assist with the development of chemical and biological weapons, how it can be used to carry out cyber-attacks, enable crimes such as fraud, and the possibility of loss of control.
The risks from AI are not sci-fi, they are urgent. By combining the agility of a tech start-up with the expertise and mission-driven focus of government, we’re building a unique and innovative organisation to prevent AI’s harms from impeding its potential.
Job Description
The AI Safety Institute (AISI) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented SEO to support the delivery of high-impact reporting products that translate technical insights on artificial intelligence (AI) risks into accessible, policy-relevant outputs for policy and assessment customers. Generating world-leading scientific insights into AI risk is only the beginning – those insights must reach the right decision makers at the right time.
Working closely with the G7 Reporting Lead and AISI’s Research Unit, you will play a key role in shaping how AISI communicates its findings across government, converting our research outputs into short, decision-relevant reports for time-poor policy makers and risk owners and disseminating these across HMG.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver reporting products that meet government user needs and uphold methodological rigour.
- Help integrate AISI insights into national security assessments, assisting the G7 reporting lead in representing AISI publications and insights at the appropriate forums.
- Assist in building and maintaining feedback mechanisms to improve the quality and relevance of AISI outputs, collecting metrics of impact from AISI reports and feeding these back to the authoring teams and senior leadership.
- Develop a strong working relationship with the delivery managers from the technical teams within AISI’s Research Unit to anticipate upcoming research outputs, and build a quarterly forecast of upcoming publications so that AISI reporting products can be resourced and prioritised.
- Make AISI products accessible across government platforms, maintaining and continuously improving the systems we use to share AISI reports across HMG – including email distribution lists, SharePoint, INDEX and national security databases. This includes monitoring these systems and responding to requests to quote AISI reporting or requests to share it with a wider audience.
- Assist the G7 reporting lead in delivering on our strategy for sharing AISI reporting with allied governments.
- Develop a deep knowledge of AISI’s research output and be able to speak authoritatively in cross HMG fora on AISI’s areas of published reporting.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape how the UK Government responds to emerging AI risks.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
- Deep commitment to public service and long-term impact.
- Excellent communication skills, especially with technical content.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and excellent attention to detail.
- Proven ability to deliver in a fast-changing environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
