The role

M&G plc is a FTSE 100 company with an active asset manager and a well established life insurance company. This role is in the Group reporting function in finance supporting the processes around regular FTSE 100 reporting to the market and other regulatory reporting including the Annual Report and Accounts process.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Group reporting process manager this role will:

  • Support the group financial reporting activity and process with a commercial mindset to ensure that M&G plc Group reporting meets regulatory obligations and strategic business objectives are achieved.
  • Embed and continue to develop through improvement, the processes surrounding key financial reporting requirements supporting the wider Group reporting team. This includes facilitating meetings, capturing and monitoring actions, developing plans and drafting reporting instructions.
  • Support production of Group Reporting documentation such as Audit Committee and Disclosure Committee papers.
  • Support the external audit process and along with the rest of the process team, manage requests and deliverables.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests relating to all aspects of the finance function using own initiative and in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships within M&G plc finance and the wider finance community.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls across the Group reporting team to support improvement of the overall control environment, customer outcomes and a reduction in M&G plc operational risk.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • A keen business analyst with relevant process experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong skills in MS Word and PowerPoint, an interest in AI tools and their use in reporting practices would also be beneficial.
  • Ability to work under pressure with no compromises in quality.
  • Self-starter, able to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload ensuring that key deadlines are met.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence effectively with productive, successful relationships with demanding stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage tensions and conflicts to achieve outcomes that work for all parties.
